ST. LOUIS — Winslow's Home, a University City fixture, has been revitalized by Vicia owners Tara and Michael Gallina, who changed the name of the restaurant to Winslow's Table. The second restaurant the couple owns, the new space opens Thursday, under their Rooster and the Hen hospitality group umbrella.
As reported in August, the Gallinas purchased Winslow's, located at 7213 Delmar Blvd., from previous owner Ann Sheehan Lipton, who also owns Winslow's Farm. Lipton will continue to own and operate Winslow's Farm, located in Augusta, Missouri. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sasha Malinich of R/5 and Casco Architects led the redesign of the 2,600-square-foot space, which was mostly cosmetic, but did include new tables from Martin Goebel of Martin Goebel Design and a custom "landscape" of ceramic wheat and chickens from artist Nikki Lemkemeier. The space can accommodate 49 guests.

They also included a new, 1,300-square-foot private event space that seats 36 guests and can be used for corporate dinners, social functions, wine dinners and special events.
"We plan to stay loyal to the farm-table, neighborhood feel that helped establish Winslow's Home as an iconic St. Louis institution," Tara Gallina said. "But we'll be bringing our signature style to the restaurant, from the seasonally innovative food to the superb service experience."
Winslow's Table will serve breakfast and lunch at first, with dinner service being added by the end of the year. The restaurant's menus will be inspired by the season, the Gallinas said. Guests can expect pastries, egg dishes and staples like braised brisket sandwiches, breakfast tacos and pancakes during the day. Kid-friendly options also will be available, as well as wine, beer, cocktails and a Kaldi's coffee program. Winslow's will also feature Clementine's Naughty and Nice Creamery ice cream by the scoop and pint.
The restaurant's dishes will feature products from many of the same local purveyors, including Winslow's Farm, which is how the couple was first introduced to Sheehan Lipton and Winslow's Home.
The Gallinas were able to hire the majority of Winslow's existing staff, but did add 10 new hires.
Tara and Michael Gallina opened Vicia in 2017 in the Cortex Innovation Community. Michael Gallina was named a semifinalist this year for the Best Chef in Midwest James Beard Award.
