Man dead after car crashes into railroad pillar in north St. Louis County

The deadly crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. on West Florissant Avenue.

FERGUSON, Mo. — A man died Wednesday night in a single-car crash in north St. Louis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36-year-old Ryan Boykins of St. Louis was driving southbound on West Florissant Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ferguson when he lost control of his car. The car drove off the right side of the road before crashing head-on into a concrete railroad pillar.

Boykins was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSHP.
