JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — Thomas Bruce, the suspect in the Catholic Supply shooting, has been accused of a home invasion and assault of a woman in Jefferson County on Sept. 27.
Jefferson County police said the assault involved a 77-year-old woman who had no prior connection to Bruce.
Police said the assault was a 'crime of opportunity.'
The woman gave a description of her attacker and the color of the car to police and over time, she gave more information of what happened to her.
The woman identified Bruce as her alleged attacker when she saw the coverage of the Catholic Supply shooting.
A retired FBI special agent who spent decades profiling serial criminals said he isn’t surprised Bruce is accused in another case.
“I think when all is said and done he's going to have several more victims,” Jeff Rinek said.
He said to find them, investigators will have to compare the difficult details of each assault.
"He's going to have certain things that he concentrates on that are important to him and by identifying what those are, you'll be able to identify if those existed in other assaults,” Rinek said.
