ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A child died Sunday night after being hurt in a UTV crash in north St. Louis County.
According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers responded at about 7:45 p.m. Sunday to the crash in the 4500 block of Dieckmann Lane. There, officers rendered aid to a 6-year-old child who was injured in the crash.
The child victim was identified Monday afternoon as 6-year-old Cristobal Deleon from Florissant.
Police say Deleon was the passenger in a UTV that was driven by an older child. The older child lost control of the vehicle and Deleon was ejected. He was not wearing a helmet.
The child was taken to an area hospital and later died as a result of their injuries, police said.
The investigation was ongoing as of Sunday night.
