ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man whose murder conviction was overturned is adjusting to normal life again after 34 years behind bars.
Christopher Dunn was released from prison after he was exonerated of a St. Louis murder conviction in 1991.
Dunn and his wife, Kira, live in California. Dunn said that he's glad he doesn't have to be counted constantly. He said he loves the freedom to go outside at night and look at the sky and listen to the sounds of a neighborhood.
"And to be able to stand over my wife as she sleeps, and be reminded of the precious moment that this is," Dunn said. "And how blessed I am to have this opportunity.”
Dunn said that although they have moved, St. Louis, from Wells-Goodfellow to Walnut Park, to the south side and the Ville, is his home.
Photos provided by the Dunn family showed him in everyday situations, including shopping at a warehouse retail store, getting an eye exam, eating a tostada, enjoying a garden, and observing the ocean.
