Firefighters with the Monarch Firefighters Community Outreach were sent to St. Luke's Hospital Tuesday to help with broken sprinklers.

Firefighters said the sprinklers burst due to the below freezing temperatures at around 5 p.m. An employee with St. Luke's said the pipes were in the lobby of the west parking garage and patients were not impacted. The elevator will need to be repaired.

Missouri American Water tells 5 On Your Side 17 crews are working double shifts to respond to as many as 20 broken water mains per day.

Missouri American Water says a lot of the breaks are due to aging water mains in our area.

One neighborhood was left without water after a break over the weekend.
