ST. LOUIS -- Construction has begun on Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis.
The project is part of the CityArchRiver project, which is renovating the Arch grounds and surrounding areas.
The Kiener Plaza renovation will feature "The Runner" statue fountain overlooking a large lawn where visitors can gather and picnic. The lawn will also be able to be used for large events like concerts and festivals. It will also feature a woodland garden, bicycle parking grove and shade garden with cafe seating.
Construction around the plaza will minimally affect traffic and parking in the area.
