It's a mystery that's lasted nearly three months. There's still no sign of a missing grandmother from Sunset Hills.
Sunday night, for the first time, the family member who first noticed Linda McLaughlin was missing shared her story.
Linda's daughter-in-law, Renee McLaughlin, was the one who first discovered that Linda wasn't home anymore.
Renee describes Linda as extremely kind and caring.
"She was so loving," Renee said. "She would have done anything and everything for anyone who was close to her or a stranger on the street."
Renee said she knew Linda for about 11 and a half years. Renee is married to Linda's oldest son. She said Linda used to watch her children.
"She was a great grandmother to my kids. She watched them every day. My kids loved going to her house. They still talk about Mimi to this day," Renee said.
Renee said she noticed Linda was missing when she went to Linda's house to drop her kids off on a Tuesday morning, a morning she will never forget.
"There's no words to describe the feeling of going to drop my kids off and she's not there. It's like a horrible movie or nightmare that you can't wake up from," Renee said.
Linda McLaughlin, 57, was last seen June 1 driving her Buick Enclave in Kirkwood.
The car was found three days later in South St. Louis. Weeks before she disappeared, McLaughlin accused her husband of threatening her. The husband's attorney said his client has fully cooperated with police. He has not been named as a suspect or charged with any crime.
Linda's father, Roger Sexton, said he has prayed for her safe return. Roger said he hopes she's OK.
"It would be nice if she were still alive and could come home," Roger said.
Linda's friends have held vigils in her honor. They also raised money for signs encouraging people to call authorities if they have any information on Linda's disappearance. Linda's family is also offering a $20,000 reward for information.
Another vigil will be held for Linda on Tuesday in her Sunset Hills neighborhood to mark three months since her disappearance. St. Louis County Police are investigating. There's still no word on a suspect or person of interest at this time.
