AUGUSTA, Mo. — Moving forward, David Hoffmann says the company is going to “stop all these little projects.”
The company in 2021 announced plans for two hotels: one to be its flagship hotel in Augusta, previously slated to have 53 rooms and seven suites, in addition to a wedding venue, spa, gym and restaurant — and the other planned as a renovation of the Emmaus Home Complex, a former seminary campus in Marthasville the company acquired in May 2021. Plans for a hotel at the Emmaus site have been scrapped, as the family earlier this month said it’s selling the property and refocusing its efforts on Augusta.
Plans for the flagship hotel in Augusta have changed “dramatically, two or three times,” Hoffmann said.
The company plans to break ground on the hotel this spring, and construction will take two-and-a-half to three years, barring any unexpected delays, Hoffmann said.
He declined to share specifics but offered that he’ll “know more in the next couple of weeks.”
