Man dies in crash on Route 30 in Jefferson County

The driver was going too fast when a back tire failed, causing his pickup truck to crash into the center median and overturn, according to MSHP.

CEDAR HILL, Mo. — A man died Thursday night after being ejected from his pickup truck in a single-vehicle crash in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday on State Route 30 in Cedar Hill. 

A man was going too fast for the conditions while driving westbound in his 1995 Chevrolet 1500 on Route 30 at Local Hillsboro Road when his back right tire failed, according to MSHP. The truck spun into the center median and overturned, ejecting the driver, who wasn't wearing his seatbelt.

The driver, identified as 31-year-old Alexander Hedrick of Cedar Hill, was later pronounced dead at an area hospital, according to MSHP.
