Man found burned to death 10 days after Belleville fire

The 41-year-old man was badly burned in a building fire and died in a garage next door, the coroner said.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A man was found dead several days after a fire broke out at a building last month in Belleville, Illinois.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Jr. told 5 On Your Side that 41-year-old Trent Tuttle was found dead on Jan. 20, 10 days after a fire in a building at 520 North Illinois St., located near the Belleville Farmers Market.

Tuttle was located in a garage next to the building, and he had been badly burned, Dye said.

According to an obituary from Kassly-Meredith Funeral Home, services for Tuttle will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Moose Lodge, 8550 Bunkum Road, Caseyville, IL 622232.
