HARTFORD, Ill. — A person died early Monday morning after being hit by a car in Madison County.
According to Illinois State Police, state troopers responded at about 12:15 a.m. Monday to a crash involving a pedestrian on Illinois Route 3 at Piasa Lane, located near 5 Diamond Campgrounds in Hartford.
ISP said the pedestrian was killed in the crash, and the driver remained at the scene. The pedestrian was identified as 70-year-old Larry L. Cox.
