Pedestrian struck, killed early Tuesday in south St. Louis County

The man was walking across Tesson Ferry Road when he was struck, police said.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A man was struck and killed early Tuesday morning in south St. Louis County.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department, officers with the Affton Southwest Precinct responded at about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday to a call about a person struck on Tesson Ferry Road at Old Tesson Ferry Road, near the South County YMCA.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries, police said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the man, not yet identified, was walking across Tesson Ferry Road when he was struck, police said. The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction detectives were continuing to investigate the deadly crash as of Tuesday morning. Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact St. Louis County police at 636-529-8210.
