Delays on MetroBus after an ‘unusually high number of drivers’ call in sick

ST. LOUIS – Customers of MetroBus in the bi-state area are experiencing delays Monday morning.

According to a systemwide alert, an unusually high number of MetroBus operators called off work Monday morning.

The alert said they’re assigning other personnel to drive MetroBus vehicles, but they still do not have enough drivers to ‘deliver the on-time quality service for their customers and region to depend on.’

‘It is our sincere hope that our MetroBus team will deliver our scheduled service tomorrow so our customers can get to work and to their other important destinations. We apologize for the inconvenience the lack of drivers if causing our loyal MetroBus customer today,’ The alert said.

MetroLink and Metro Call-A-Ride service are not impacted by the shortage of MetroBus drivers, a spokesperson said.
