DMV services restored in Illinois after network outage

The Illinois Secretary of State reported hours and services were affected.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Illinois DMV facilities were affected as part of a national network outage Thursday.

The Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias shared on social media that all DMVs were "down."

The Facebook post asked people to call 800-252-8980 before visiting an Illinois DMV.

Giannoulias told NBC Chicago systems in Illinois were "back up and running" around noon.
