Donations being accepted for victims of Branson duck boat tragedy

The American Red Cross has also opened a family assistance center for those affected by the tragedy.

BRANSON, Mo. – The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) and its affiliates opened the “Branson Area Disaster Relief Fund” to support victims of the duck boat tragedy at Table Rock Lake.

The CFO and its affiliates plan to work with local leaders to support funeral needs, travel and transportation expenses for victims and families of victims, according to the press release.

The American Red Cross is also assisting families as part of the response effort.

Donations can be made by credit card by clicking here. Choose the Branson Area Disaster Relief Fund at the top of the drop-down menu. Checks can be sent to, Community Foundation of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 8960, Springfield, MO, 65801.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the victims as well. Sheila Thomas of the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce set up the fundraiser and said the response has been tremendous.

"I feel very fortunate to live in such a giving and loving community," she said on the page.
