ST. LOUIS — Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 44 Sunday morning.
Police said the crash happened on the westbound lanes of I-44 near the South Grand exit at around 9 a.m. Police closed the westbound lanes of the highway for about two hours for an investigation.
Investigators said a Chevrolet S-10 was traveling the wrong way along westbound I-44 when it hit a Kia Sorento head-on. The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia was taken a hospital where she later died.
Police have not released the identities of the victims.
