This is a developing story and will be updated as 5 On Your Sides receives more information.

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. – Extra police officers are on scene at Webster Groves schools following a threatening phone call made to an elementary school.

An anonymous ‘threatening phone call’ was made to Bristol Elementary School. It’s unclear what the threat was, but the district says it is taking the threat seriously.

Letter sent to parents and guardians

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Late this morning, we received an anonymous, threatening telephone call at Bristol School. The motive for the message wasn’t clear but our district and law enforcement officials are taking it seriously. We immediately brought staff and students at all the schools inside. Both the Webster Groves and Rock Hill Police Departments are involved and present at or near district schools, and will be so through Adventure Club today. We plan to continue to have a police presence through the week at our schools, if it’s deemed appropriate.

We continue to be in contact with the police as the investigation proceeds and will keep you informed of any developments. Our top priority, as always, is ensuring school safety for our students.
