FERGUSON, Mo. - Family and friends mourned the loss of Stephen Combs Sunday night. Combs, 27, was shot outside the R and R Mini Mart on Airport Road in Ferguson last Sunday.

He died after he was taken to the hospital. Police released surveillance photos that include a person of interest in the case. You can not directly see the front of the person’s face in the photos, but people who work nearby say the person of interest is a woman. She was seen in the R and R Mini Mart before the shooting.

Combs’ family held a candlelight vigil in his honor in the parking lot of R and R Mini Mart tonight. They say he would’ve turned 28 on Sunday.

His cousin, Allison Clemons, describes him as kind and caring.

“Stephen was a very loving person," she said. "He would do anything for anybody. Very family oriented. Always going out of his way to help others.”

Clemons said the Vatterott College graduate leaves behind a loving family including three brothers and one sister. She passed out fliers with a picture of the person of interest. She’s hoping someone will recognize the woman and come forward with information that can help with the murder investigation.
