JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — A motorcyclist was killed Thursday evening in a single-vehicle crash in Jefferson County.
The crash happened at about 6:05 p.m. on northbound Interstate 55 past Highway Z, near Pevely.
According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling in the first lane on northbound I-55 when he lost control and traveled off the roadway. He struck the center cable barrier and was ejected, the report said.
The driver, 25-year-old Brandon Copeland of Crystal City, was pronounced dead at the scene, MSHP said.
No other injuries were reported.
Two lanes were closed Thursday evening while first responders investigated. All lanes have since reopened.
