BERKELEY, Mo. — A man was shot and killed at a Waffle House in Berkeley early Tuesday morning.
At around 12:08 a.m., the Berkeley Police Department responded to the 4500 block of James S McDonnell Boulevard for a call for a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man, 20-30 years old, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Berkeley requested St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons to conduct the investigation.
Police believe the man was shot inside the Waffle House by someone who was outside of the restaurant.
A witness told 5 On Your Side his friend was celebrating his 24th birthday when someone walked into the restaurant and started shooting.
A 5 On Your Side crew saw a bullet hole through a glass window and a lot of broken glass on the ground.
