Crews rescue dog from Ferguson storm sewer

The dog was uninjured and reunited with her owner, who had been searching for her all morning, firefighters said.

FERGUSON, Mo. — Ferguson firefighters and Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District employees came together for a special rescue mission Monday.

According to the Ferguson Fire Department, crews with Aerial 3015 responded Monday morning to the report of a dog trapped in a storm sewer in the 300 block of Mueller Avenue. When firefighters arrived, MSD had already removed the manhole cover to save the dog.

Firefighters were able to remove the dog from the sewer without any issues, the department said. The dog - uninjured - was reunited with her owner, who had been searching for her all morning.
