Police identify man killed Sunday in north St. Louis County crash

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A car crash Sunday morning in north St. Louis County left one man dead.

St. Louis County police officers responded to a two-car crash at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of New Halls Ferry and Dunn roads

A Toyota Corolla traveling southbound on New Halls Ferry Road and a Ford F-250 traveling northbound collided when the pickup truck turned onto Dunn, according to the police report.

Police said there were no passengers in either car.

The man driving the Toyota Corolla was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He was identified Wednesday morning as 27-year-old Mohamed Barud of St. Louis.

The driver of the Ford F-250 was not injured. 

St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crime Against Persons detectives and the Accident Reconstruction Unit are investigating the crash, police said.
