Multiple departments responding to fire at Hermann antique mall

Firefighters working to extinguish a fire at a business on 1st Street in Hermann, Missouri.

HERMANN, Mo. — Nearby fire departments have responded to a fire Monday at a business on 1st Street in Hermann, Missouri.

According to a Facebook post from the Boles Fire Protection District, they were called in to help the Hermann Area Volunteer Fire Department with the fire. Video from the Hermann Advertiser-Courier showed smoke coming from Hermann's Attic Antique Mall. 

The publisher of the Hermann Advertiser-Courier said everyone made it out of the businesses safely. They said there are several bed and breakfast rooms above the antique mall, which is where the fire is happening. 

The fire mostly impacted Hermann's Antique Attic Mall and Dappleton Hotel, which are in the same building, and Downtown Deli, which is right next door.

According to a Facebook post from Concert Hall and Barrel Tavern, other business on 1st Street were without power due to the fire.

Photos from the Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District shared additional photos of the damage caused by the fire. The fire district said it dispatched a fire engine and a tanker to help fight the fire.

GRFPD Engine Company 8724 & Tanker 8733 are on scene assisting Hermann Area Volunteer Fire Department with a commercial fire on Main Street.

The Hermann Area Chamber of Commerce asked the community to pray and support first responders battling a fire at one of its member businesses.

"Please keep the firefighters, emergency personnel, and everyone involved in your thoughts," a post on the chamber's Facebook page said. "We are deeply grateful for their courage and dedication to keeping our community safe. Let’s rally together and send strength, prayers, and positivity their way. Stay tuned for updates, and please stay clear of the area to allow our first responders to do their job safely."
