ST CHARLES, Mo. — A fire under a busy Missouri River crossing Monday morning caused a delay on I-70.
Pattonville Fire Protection District posted on Facebook showing logs burning under the Blanchette Bridge. Calls came in starting just before 5 a.m.
Crews fought the fire from the bridge and from a boat on the Missouri River. Crews spent extensive time on scene ensuring the fire was completely out.
The Pattonville Fire Protection District thanked fire crews from Robertson Fire Protection District, St. Charles Fire Department, St. Louis County Police Department and Maryland Heights Police Department.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
