Paramedics responded to the crash to render aid to Caldwell, but he was declared dead less than 30 minutes after the crash. He was 72 years old.

That portion of Missouri Route 94 has a sharp turn, and according to the crash report, Caldwell was driving too fast around the curve and lost control of the vehicle.

Caldwell's vehicle traveled off the roadway and to the right before overturning, the crash report said.

The online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Caldwell was not wearing a seatbelt.
