ST. LOUIS — The 67-year-old former St. Louis day care employee who's been facing child molestation charges since 2020 was found guilty Thursday, a statement from the Circuit Attorney's Office said.
Tony Brown, 67, was facing six sex crime charges in 2020. That included a count of statutory sodomy and five counts of child molestation.
In 2021, according to the Circuit Attorney's office, a third victim came forward after recognizing Brown from news reports. Brown is accused of inappropriately touching her.
The jury on Thursday found Brown guilty of charges of molestation that occurred while Brown worked at House of Montessori Education daycare in 2019 & 2020.
The daycare center, once located at 7814 S Broadway, has since closed.
The jury sentenced Tony Brown to 12 years for a sodomy charge and 5 years each for two molestation charges.
"Children who are the victims of molestation may carry emotional damage with them all their lives," Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore said. "I am grateful for the diligence of our team in working with these young victims and their families to bring this man to justice."
A judge will determine if the sentences will run consecutively or concurrently on January 23, 2024.
