FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. — Law enforcement is investigating the source of a loud "explosion" heard Sunday night in Fredericktown, according to the Fredericktown Fire Department.
The sound was heard just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday across parts of Fredericktown.
According to the fire department, the sound did not come from Critical Mineral Recovery, the lithium battery plant that caught fire on Oct. 30, triggering evacuations north of the town. That facility remains stable.
On Facebook, the fire department shared that police were investigating the area of the Holmes Subdivision near Highway Z.
