ST. LOUIS — When John Legend performs at The Muny in September, it will be the first live concert at the venue in more than 30 years. On Thursday, The Muny announced it would continue a tradition with the show: free tickets.

The Muny announced a partnership with online platform Lucky Seat to host a random drawing for free tickets to the concert scheduled for Sept. 7. The announcement said there will be 1,500 free seats available for the drawing, the same number of seats available for all Muny shows.

Free tickets are normally available on a first-come, first-served basis, but The Muny is holding an online drawing due to the highly anticipated show.

To enter, users will need to create a Lucky Seat account. Only one entry per person will be accepted, and duplicate entries or entries using disposable email addresses will be discarded.

You can enter now through 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 7. Winners will be notified via email starting at 10 a.m. on Aug. 7.

“Eliminating barriers to entry is at the core of our mission, and our free seats have been a part of the Muny experience since our inception,” Muny President & CEO Kwofe Coleman said in a press release. “Nothing brings St. Louisans together quite like The Muny, and we’re proud to continue this tradition, allowing more members of our community to experience what will be a truly unforgettable evening."

The last live concert at The Muny was by the Moody Blues and Kansas on Aug. 29, 1991. Legendary performers have also performed at The Muny, including Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston and Patti Labelle.

Tickets are still available through MetroTix.
