RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. – Galleria Mall was put on lockdown for an hour Friday afternoon after protests.

Richmond Heights police said 70 people started protesting at around 1:30 Friday afternoon. Protesters were part of the boycott and protests in response to the Jason Stockley ruling made earlier this year. Police said they gave orders to disperse at around 1:55, but protesters continued their demonstration.

The demonstrations continued until 2:30, when seven people were arrested and the mall was put on lockdown. The mall reopened about an hour later.

All seven people arrested were charged with failure to disperse and one was also charged with assaulting a police officer. State Representative Bruce Franks was among the seven arrested Friday. All the people arrested have since been released.
