'We want to extend Grant's Farm for all seasons out of the year': Grant's Farm opens early, celebrates 70 years

The St. Louis staple officially opened for the season on Monday, March 18.

ST. LOUIS — Grant's Farm officially opened up for the season on Monday, March 18.

This year marks the earliest-ever general admission opening, as the St. Louis staple celebrates 70 years.

General Manager Steve Byrd said this is a new era for this family-favorite attraction.

"Grant's Farm is very unique," he said.

Byrd described his beloved place of work as a blend of history, heritage, nature and St. Louis legends.

"We are celebrating 70 years of operating to the public this year. Back in 1954, August Busch Jr. opened the farm to the general public," he said.

Since that very first day, Byrd said, the 280-acre farm has created memories for families across the Bi-State.

"That's something that we want to share with the public more months out of the year," he said.

It's for that very reason that Byrd said they decided to open up early for the 2024 season and families should mark their calendars because this new opening is here to stay.

"There's so much to offer, so much to do here, at Grant's Farm from spring, through summer, fall and into the holiday season. We want to offer that all seasons out of the year," he said.

The brand-new extended season at Grant's Farm will have all your all-time favorites, like the widely popular baby goats milk feeding, but Byrd said it'll also have added new tours and experiences.

"In addition to being open early, we will be releasing some new tours and experiences later this spring. For instance, going on right now, we have some unique dining experiences that take place in our carriage house, that will be occurring this week and next week through Spring Break," he said.

Several families were already taking advantage of the early opening on Monday, despite the crisp temperatures.

The Sloan family was one of the first to make their way through the gates.

"This was our first trip here, so we were super pumped to get here," Karie Sloan said.

It's families, like the Sloan's, that Byrd said is the reason this won't just be a seasonal operation anymore.

"It's a wonderful place just to see families making memories and making memories that last a lifetime," he said.

This season will include all your family's favorites like the Easter Bunny Brunch, the Busch Family Egg Hunt and the Animal All-Stars.

Grant's Farm will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this week and next week for Spring Break.

General admission is free, parking is $16 and tours start at $26.
