Hillsboro driver dies after crashing into tree

The driver was on Klondike Road at the time of the crash, Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBORO, Mo. — A 29-year-old Hillsboro man was pronounced dead after a crash late Friday night. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Aaron Phipps was driving southbound on Klondike Road around 9 p.m. in Hillsboro when he went left off the road.

His Honda Fit hit a fence and then a tree, the MSHP crash report said. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that Phipps was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Paramedics on the scene said Phipps was dead at 9:23 p.m.
