ST. LOUIS — For the first time in nearly a decade, the number of homeless Americans is growing.

Overnight Wednesday, new numbers were released which revealed more than half-a-million people are homeless. The increase is being blamed on fast-rising rent prices in California, Oregon and Washington. But, in most parts of the country, the homeless count is going down.
