ST. LOUIS — People celebrating Cinco de Mayo weekend in St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, and Springfield can plan for a free ride home from festivities, but free rides are limited. Here's what you need to know.
Rides up to $20 can be arranged for free for times between 2 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday via Lyft, a written release from the Breakthru Beverage said.
The free rides, provided by Breakthru Beverage Missouri and Proximo Spirits, are offered through Safe Home After Every Occasion, a program designed to encourage people to plan a ride home before going out. Since 2011, it has provided 150,000 Missourians free rides home on holidays and after special events.
Use redemption code BBGMOCINCO24 as early as 9 a.m. Saturday.
Breakthru Beverage Missouri's Executive Vice President Scott Johnson emphasized safety in the release.
“We all know that Cinco de Mayo brings many people out to celebrate together, but the most important part of these celebrations is getting home safely,” Johnson said. “We are proud to sponsor the Safe Home program once again through our initiative, Safe Home After Every Occasion, as Breakthru remains committed to celebrating responsibly. This program would also not be possible without the generous support of 1800 Tequila. We encourage anyone celebrating this weekend to take advantage of this great program.”
