SWANSEA, Ill — One person was killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Swansea, Illinois.
The crash happened at around 5 p.m. on the 2400 block of Illinois Route 159.
Swansea police Chief Matthew Blomberg said one person was killed. St. Clair County Coroner's Office identified her Friday as 27-year-old Karlie Langley of Smithton.
A second person was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital, while two other people were driven privately to a hospital in Illinois, Blomberg said.
The roadway was closed for about three hours between Fullerton and Old Fullerton roads while police investigated the crash. It reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
