GODFREY, Ill. — An 11-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital after he was struck by a car while riding a bike.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection of Godfrey Road and Celesta Street in Godfrey.
According to a preliminary investigation, the boy was riding his bike across the intersection when a vehicle driving on Godfrey Road with a green light struck him.
He was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
