9 injured after SUV crashes into bus for adults with developmental disabilities in north St. Louis

St. Louis police said eight people on the bus and the driver of the SUV were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

ST. LOUIS — Nine people were injured in a crash that left a bus carrying adults with developmental disabilities on its side Thursday morning.

St. Louis police said the crash happened at the intersection of East Grand Boulevard and North Florissant Avenue at about 7:20. Video from the scene showed an SUV with front-end damage and a small passenger bus on its side.

St. Louis police said eight people on the bus and the driver of the SUV were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. None of the injuries were considered critical, according to police.

The bus was from Southside Wellness Center, a senior services company located on Park Avenue in the city's The Gate neighborhood. According to its website, Southside Wellness Center also provides in-home care, adult day care services and transportation services for seniors.
