JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — Firefighters with Rock Community Fire Protection District have been working since early Saturday morning to get a large brush fire under control in Jefferson County.

Just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning, firefighters were dispatched for a large brush fire near the intersection of MO-141 and Cesos Lane in Arnold, Alyson Rotter, a spokesperson for the fire protection district, said.

A KSDK viewer said the smoke limited road visibility in the area. Traffic cameras near the fire showed smoke in the atmosphere Saturday morning.

Firefighters were still at the scene of the fire as of 9:30 a.m., Rotter said. It would be some time before the smoke cleared.

"We're doing the best we can to get it all under control," she added.

There were no reported injuries or property damage to a nearby St. Louis Composting, Inc. facility.
