FLORISSANT – Police arrested the manager of a Florissant Jack in the Box after they say he stole more than $3,500 from the store from Nov. 3 through Dec. 19.
According to charging documents, Christopher Beeman, 31, was charged last Thursday with one felony count of stealing. Beeman was the one who called the police and told them that two days worth of deposits were taken from the store.
After finding the surveillance cameras were turned off a few days earlier and some inconsistencies in his story, officers suspected that the story was made up.
Police say after being read his Miranda Rights, he told them he had been stealing from the store for several weeks. He said about $5,000 of deposits from the store were stolen out of his car a few weeks ago, which he did not report because he was afraid of losing his job, so he started to steal from the safe to make up for the missing deposit.
In all, Beeman took $3,897 from the store.
