ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The colder temperatures have forced Jamestown Mall to close Wednesday afternoon, according to David Wrone with the St. Louis County Departments of Highways and Traffic and Public Works.
Wednesday, the mall's temperature measured at 45 degrees in some parts of the mall, and St. Louis County requires that the mall's temperature be at least 68 degrees.
According to officials, approximately one-third of the mall has been without heat due to any gas service since May. The stores are heated by electricity but couldn't offset the common area's temperature.
Mall managers notified St. Louis County inspectors that gas service would be restored Saturday.
Wrone said the mall would be reopen if heat is restored to common areas.
