JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — Police in Jefferson County reopened all lanes of Highway 30 near Executive Parkway after making an arrest in the area Friday morning.

A spokesman for the department said the department's SWAT and crisis intervention units were sent to the area to make an arrest. The road was closed in both directions to ensure the public was a safe distance from the activity. The road has since reopened.

In an afternoon update, the sheriff's office said the man, 58-year-old Mark Delbrook, was arrested and is being held on one count of first-degree harassment stemming from an Oct. 19 incident with neighbors.

The update said deputies got a call Friday morning saying Delbrook was leaving his house, so deputies attempted to pull him over. Delbrook's car came to a stop along Highway 30 near Executive Parkway, but he was not responding to commands from deputies and the release said the department believes he has recently made threats to deputies.

The release said no shots were fired during the incident, but the department's SWAT team "deployed a diversionary device to disorient Delbrook while they approached."

"While there are rumors Delbrook was shot, those rumors are false," the update said.

Deputies found a loaded handgun and additional magazines inside the vehicle after Delbrook was taken into custody.

He was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated, and the sheriff's office said they expect him to be booked in the Jefferson County jail after the evaluation.
