ST. LOUIS — A teenage boy was taken to a St. Louis hospital after being shot Tuesday night.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called at about 7:45 p.m. to an area hospital where an 18-year-old boy had been dropped off with gunshot wounds to his hand and foot.

The victim was inconsistent with statements to police but eventually claimed he was at a gas station when he got into an argument with another man who pulled out a gun and fired shots at him, police said.

The victim claimed he didn't know where the gas station was and could not give a description of the suspect, police said.

The investigation was ongoing as of Wednesday.
