ST. LOUIS — A local shaved iced chain held a fundraiser on Sunday for Officer David Lee's loved ones.
A Kona Ice truck came to St. Ann Park and pledged that 100% of the gross sales would go directly to David Lee's family through the BackStoppers.
The co-owner of the Kona Ice truck Joseph Buehler, a former officer, once worked alongside David Lee in the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's seventh district.
He wanted to "be able to support the people who support us," he said.
Buehler had the help of others in the community like the Costco in University City that donated all the sugar used by the truck Sunday.
The Kona Ice truck raised over $2,400 for Lee's family.
