Dense fog along with a marsh fire created hazardous driving conditions on Monday morning, according to WWL. "Superfog" is a combination of dense fog and smoke that contributed to the near-zero visibility along the interstate.

The Louisana Department of Transportation and Development announced that I-55 southbound reopened on Thursday morning while the northbound lanes remained closed.
