ST. LOUIS — A local chef has advanced to the next round of the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards, the top prize of the culinary world.
The James Beard Foundation on Wednesday announced the finalists for its 2024 restaurant and chef awards, with Rob Connoley, the owner and head chef of Bulrush, being named a finalist in the Best Chef: Midwest competition, which includes chefs from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The James Beard Foundation Awards will announce the winners in its restaurant and chef categories on June 10.
A trio of local restaurateurs, two restaurants, two chefs and a bakery that were earlier this year named semifinalists for the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards did not move on to the next round of the awards.
