Police have identified the man who was scaling Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday.
Michael Joseph Ryan, 19, was taken into police custody after he climbed the building for several hours.
The teen had changed his name from Steve Rogata recently. He lives in Great Falls, Va.
Around 6:30 p.m., NYPD helped pull the man inside the building. He was using what appeared to be suction cups, ropes and a harness to climb the building.
People on social media are calling him 'Steve from Virginia,' although his identity has not yet been verified.
Police officers smashed windows in an attempt to block his progress earlier in the afternoon, the Associated Press reported.
The NYPD also put airbags below incase the man fell.

The 58-story building is Donald Trump's business headquarters. The Republican presidential candidate was not there Wednesday as he was campaigning in Virginia.
According to The New York Post, the man posted a video to You Tube Tuesday saying he was a Trump supporter and wanted to meet with him.
Trump Tower is located on Fifth Avenue, an area of heavy traffic. Many pedestrians stopped to watch the climber.
"Kind of brave of him," said Mateo Daza, 16, from Belgium. "I hope there's something more political behind [it]."
The man's motivation is not yet known.
People who have climbed other structures in New York have been arrested and faced charges such as reckless endangerment and trespassing.
