PIKE COUNTY, Mo. — A man died after he crashed his tractor-trailer off the side of US-61 in Pike County Wednesday evening.
According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 64-year-old man was driving a 2007 Peterbilt 379 south on US-61 near Pike County Road 53 at around 8:10 p.m. The report said the truck went off the right side of the road, crossed a gravel road and crashed into a ditch.
The crash report said the driver was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis by Survival Flight Helicopter. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 11:15.
