ST. LOUIS COUNTY – A 73-year-old man is facing charges after his roommate was found dead at The Estates of Spanish Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility Wednesday morning.
Larry Harris, 69, was found beaten to death in his room. Wednesday afternoon, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges on 73-year-old Willie Clemons for one count of second-degree murder. He’s being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond.
According to the probable cause statement, Harris and Clemons were roommates at the nursing home. A nurse arrived at their room and found Harris in his bed and not breathing. Clemons admitted to nursing staff and police he punched Harris multiple times.
Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are conducting the investigation.
