ST. LOUIS — A man killed by gunfire was found in a St. Louis home Friday night, a Saturday statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.
The man was found inside a home in the 1100 block of Angelica Street, the written SLMPD statement said. That location puts the scene in St. Louis's Hyde Park neighborhood.
Police officers with SLMPD's Fourth District were responding to reports of a shooting in that area.
"Officers found a 45-year-old man inside of a residence who had been shot and was unresponsive," the written statement said. "EMS responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene."
Police did not name the victim on Saturday.
Detectives with SLMPD's Homicide Division responded to the scene and are leading the investigation.
"Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Division directly at 314-444-5371," the statement said. "Anyone who wants to remain anonymous and/or is interested in a possible reward can call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477)."
