ST. LOUIS — A man died after suffering critical injuries in a crash involving an ATV in St. Louis last week.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Kingshighway Boulevard for a one-vehicle crash.

Police said a Kawasaki ATV was traveling southbound on North Kingshgihway when it crossed over the northbound lanes and onto the sidewalk. It continued to travel southbound on the east side of the street and approached an alley. A white vehicle was traveling westbound out of the alley at the time.

The ATV veered to avoid the vehicle and collided with a building.

The driver was transported to an area hospital where he was listed in critical/unstable condition, with death being imminent, police said Friday. An update from the police department on Wednesday said the driver, 33-year-old Terrill Allen, died from his injuries.

The department's accident reconstruction unit was requested to the scene.
